Degree programmes

Names of degree programmes taught at Polish higher education institutions according to the POL-on register: 2083. Programme names are in Polish; use the language filter to find programmes taught in English.

The POL-on register lists 2,083 names of degree programmes at Polish higher education institutions – 9,374 programmes in total. A programme name is not a curriculum: the same name at two institutions may mean different courses, a different profile or a different professional title. That is why each programme page lists the institutions with level, profile, mode, language and title. Programme names are given in Polish, as in the register.

Levels and duration

First-cycle studies end with the title of licencjat or inżynier (bachelor's level) and most often last 6 semesters. Second-cycle studies lead to the title of magister (master's level), usually in 4 semesters. Some programmes, such as medicine or law, are long-cycle master's studies – most often 10 semesters. The whole ladder is explained in Degrees and titles.

Profile, mode and language

5,582 programmes have a general academic profile and 3,792 a practical one; in practical programmes more than half of the ECTS credits come from classes developing practical skills. 4,915 programmes can also be studied part-time. 1,012 programmes are taught in English – see English-taught programmes in Poland and use the language filter below.
